SYNOPSIS As a child young Frederic,
our hero, was inadvertently apprenticed by his nurse, Ruth to a band of
pirates. However, today it is his 21st birthday and his apprenticeship
has come to an end. The pirates meanwhile, have seized the Major General and his daughters intending to hold them captive and to marry them. The Major General saves both himself and daughters by telling the lie that he is an orphan. The soft-hearted pirates let them go, but on finding out the truth, seek revenge for this 'story'. Obeying the dictates of his sense 0f duty, Frederic is forced to resume membership 0f the pirate band when Ruth and the Pirate King reveal to him that he was born on the 29th February, and according to actual birthdays, is still only 5 years 01d ! The rescue 0f Major General Stanley is effected by the redoubtable policeman led by their Sergeant who charges the pirates to yield 'in Queen Victorias name'. A further revelation comes from Ruth that the pirates are, in fact, all noblemen who have gone astray. The Major General is then delighted to pardon the pirates and to offer daughters to them in marriage. |
